Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Rahul Gandhi's recent comment, referring to the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as a "naach-gana" (dancing and singing) event, has ignited strong reactions from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
“You opened the temple and told the President that since you are a tribal you can't come inside, you're not allowed. After that they invited Amitabh Bachchan, Adani, Ambani, but did not allow a labourer, did you see a worker (there) or a farmer? Naach-gana chal raha hai (there was song and dance)…this is your reality,” reports quoted Gandhi as saying during a Hisar rally.
The Congress leader's statement has been criticized by the BJP as being disrespectful to the sentiments of millions of Hindus, especially given the historical and cultural significance of the Ram Mandir. BJP leaders have accused Gandhi of trivializing the importance of the temple and stoking controversy for political gain.
